Sodexo Government Services has an opening for an experienced Food Service Operations Manager to oversee 1 of 2 dining halls.

 

Under direction of the General Manager, this position oversees daily operations for a facility that is open 24/7 365 days a year serving approximately 3500 meals a day throughout 4 meal periods.  The United Sates Air Force has a high level of food service expectation and this account will require the Sodexo staff to be top of their profession. In Government Services contract compliance is critical with safety and customer service a high priority as extensive audits and surveys are conducted at each unit on weekly bases. Sodexo offers innovative and healthy concepts while keeping to a strict profit and loss financial statement.

 

Goodfellow AFB is located in San Angelo which is in the heart of Texas.  Customer Service is a MUST.   This is a high volume training base that requires close interation with government clients. This Dining Halls are Union environments and the Operations Manager will act as interim GM in absence of GM and support all GM task and responsibilities. The Operations Manager is responsible for labor management, new hire process, and payroll.

 

Operations Manager Responsibilities include:

  • Strong knowledge of cash controls, labor cost
  • Integrate fully within our client's organization becoming a trusted advisor with a customer service and employee focus.
  • Works to achieve company and client financial targets and goals.
  • Works to achieve high quality satisfaction scores.
  • Ensures compliance to food safety, sanitation, and overall workplace safety standards.
  • Meets (or exceeding) Sodexo standards of operations.
  • Creates a positive environment and successfully motivates and manages team.

The ideal candidate will have a work history demonstrating strong leadership skills, previous supervisory experience and the ability to be a hands-on leader. Ideally candidates will have worked in a fast paced environment. Candidates should also have the ability to manage multiple priorities, demonstrate professional communication skills, and a passion for a high level of customer service. The ideal candidate must be compassionate and relationship oriented and exhibit flexibility to take on additional responsibilities as needed. Candidate must be knowledgeable in compliance with food safety, sanitation and overall workplace safety standards. Candidates should have strong financial acumen and strong attention to company policy, standards, and regulations. Candidates must be outgoing and able to interact with the client, customers as well as staff.

Basic Education Requirement - Associate's Degree
Basic Management Experience - 2 years
Basic Functional Experience - 2 years work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
