Sodexo is seeking a Food Retail Manager 2 for Lima Memorial Health System.  Lima Memorial is located in Lima, OH.  The campus encompases a 300-bed Acute Care Hospital and multiple specialty care facilities throughout Lima and surrounding comunities.  Candidate responsibilities will include on-site Retail and Catering management (internal and external catering), as well as participation in the management of patient meal service.  Coordination and participation in Community Health and Nutrition events is also an expectation.


Lima's retail focus is Mindful Dining and Wellness of staff and guest.  Along with retail food service experience the Retail Manager should have Dietitian / Diet Tech  / Nutrition experience that can further engage staff and guest in wellness.  


This position will oversee all retail and catering services including a cafeteria and some outside catering venues.  Total annual sales are over $1.25 Million, and the Retail Manager works alongside an Executive Chef.


The retail operation is focussed on Mindful Dining ,promoting healthy eating and living practices.  Candidate should have the capability to educate and promot nutritional and mindful food choices.  Candidate with Dietetic Licensure or prior Dietetic experience prefered.


Will manage 60 employees.  Will assist with catering and patient services as well.  Sodexo's is running At Your Request patient meal delivery system.  



The successful Retail Manager will have experience and proven results in, the following areas:


Leadership: Ability to effectively manage and communicate with Retail Staff, Key Personnel, Management Teams along with a passion and dedication to be “one of the best”. Candidate must be highly engaged and extremely hands-on in day to day operations.


Training: Must be able to articulate, demonstrate and uphold operating standards and expectations for the front-line staff through hands on training, coaching and follow up.


Financial: Ability to manage and demonstrate proven results with food costs, labor and controllable expenses.



The ideal candidate will have:

  • prior experience as dietitian / diet tech
  • retail and catering business knowledge
  • Able to remain calm and focused in a highly demanding environment, understands and is able to meet the operating standards and expectations
  • Focus on customer service excellence
  • Demonstrated experience providing strong leadership, including supervision, direction and training, to a diverse team of employees
  • Focus on food and physical safety and sanitation
  • Experience managing food and labor cost controls to meet targets

Basic Education Requirement - High School Diploma or GED or Equivalent
Basic Management Experience - 1 year
