Sodexo is seeking a Food Service Manager (III) for Marist College in Poughkeepsie, NY. Marist College is located in the middle of the beautiful and historic Hudson River Valley, just 90 miles from metropolitan New York City. Position will oversee a Resident Dining Hall with 725 seats, assist with scheduling and management of 50 union employees and monitor regulations and standards set by Sodexo. The ideal candidate will have prior experience: Mentoring, coaching, training and developing resident dining food service employees, problem solving and following up on assigned tasks, will be ServSafe Certified, and familiar with HACCP and kitchen safety protocols. Position’s role is critical to the overall success of the food service program. In addition to bringing problems, issues, and concerns to the table, this position will bring solutions/resolutions. Position will function as a Front of the House Service Manager serving 1,500 student boarders in this high-volume dining hall.
The ideal candidate will have the following:
- College/University high-volume Resident Dining Management Experience,
- Experience training and leading a resident dining staff,
- Experience with food and labor systems,
- P&L management experience,
- Excellent client and customer service skills,
- Dedication to service and standards
Typical working schedule is Tuesday – Saturday from 10am – 8pm.
Basic Education Requirement - High School Diploma or GED
Basic Management Experience - 1 year
Basic Functional Experience - 2 years work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
