Job # 64100 - Sodexo is seeking a Dining Room Manager (II) for SEARSTONE Retirement Community in Cary, North Carolina.  This is a 275 Resident Upscale Continuing Care Retirement Community located in the thriving and innovative state capital of NC, Raleigh!  Our Sodexo 5 Star Dining program brings the whole community to life with; formal dining in The White Horse Bar & Grille and casual dining by the pool!  We also celebrate special and themed events in our Grand Ballroom!


Position is responsible for the restaurant style dining rooms and works closely with the management team on menu development, resident relations, employee training, and innovative dining activities. Position oversees 25 wait staff and a hostess, food quality and food & environment safety, will assist with catered events, and will effectively managing labor costs.  Position reports to the General Manager and provides staff training, supervision and support, works with employees to continually improve performance and customer satisfaction; manage all dining events with enthusiasm while providing hands-on guidance during resident and client functions in order to produce outstanding dining experiences.


Ideal Candidate Skills, Certification:

Some College / Trade School, Servsafe Certified

Front of the house upscale dining and wait staff training experience

Skills to: interview, hire, train, schedule, evaluate, and develop 25 wait staff

Computer skills to work in excel, word & PowerPoint

Working knowledge of HACCP monitors for compliance

Ability to prioritize multiple tasks is essential

A flexible leadership style for a multigenerational workplace

Experience in retirement community / country club / fine dining is ideal!


Schedule varies with shared weekends & holidays

Basic Education Requirement - High School Diploma or GED
Basic Management Experience - 1 year
Basic Functional Experience - 2 years work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
