The Food Service Manager 2--Resource position will provide operational support within Fairview's Central and South Regions, including at Fairview's Southdale Hospital in Edina.  Southdale coverage will include responsibility for both retail (cafeteria) and patient services leadership, as well as some production oversight.  The Food Services Manager will work in partnership with the Nutrition Services management team and new leadership to support Fairview's efforts to embrace innovation and new thinking for driving a healthier future.  Working closely with the Retail Manager to develop creative ideas for increasing service delivery for our guests, the Food Service Manager will also oversee patient services and production to ensure we deliver an outstanding patient experience.


An engaging personality, creative mindset, commitment to operational excellence standards, willingness to coach and develop others, openness to change, and attention to detail and follow-through will encourage success in this position.  Technical skills include high levels of proficiency with POS functions and reporting systems, Microsoft Office, computer-generated menu and graphics programming, cash handling processes, and understanding of safe food handling practices, qualities, and standards (e.g. HAACP forms, temperature logs, inventory management, etc.)  Additionally, the Food Service Manager will appreciate the importance of partnering with hospital leaders and employees in other departments to exceed expectations of patients and guests.


Shifts at Southdale will include evenings, weekend, and holiday rotations with the management team.



Basic Education Requirement - High School Diploma or GED
Basic Management Experience - 1 year
Basic Functional Experience - 2 years work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
