Job # 76874 - Sodexo is seeking a Food Operations Manager (II) / Healthcare Dining Director for Elim Park Health Care and Rehabilitation Center in Cheshire, Connecticut.  This is an exclusive 5 Star Retirement Community with 350 Residents, fine dining, casual and comfort care dining, and an employee and guest café.   Located in the historic town of Cheshire with easy access to the many dining, cultural, and entertainment offerings in nearby New Haven, Hartford, and New York City. This position manages meal services for 132 Residents in our Healthcare Community and will assist in Fine Dining.


In this role, you report to the General Manager and manage: 20 employees in food preparation and service, the HACCP and safety programs, inventory and on-line ordering, and progressive skills base training for our 5 Star Dining Program.  Position requires strong front and back of the house leadership abilities and outstanding customer service skills for Resident and Client satisfaction and on-going program enhancements.  This is a client facing position and the client is very involved in the day to day operation of the whole facility. Being able to communicate with people at all different levels is a critical success factor for this position.


Your Skills Checklist for this position:

Formal Management Training, a Servsafe Certificate

Healthcare background & Fine Dining experience

Working knowledge of HACCP and kitchen safety programs

Skills to hire, coach, and train 20 employees

Ability to manage food and labor costs controls

Computer skills; food and labor management systems 

Experience with on-line ordering and inventory controls

Food production experience for meal services and some catering 

Front of the house management experience


Typical Schedule; 9am-7pm with rotating weekends / holidays

Basic Education Requirement - Associate's Degree
Basic Management Experience - 2 years
Basic Functional Experience - 2 years work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
